Description: Melody No.1 is a piano piece written in compound binary form consisting of two ternaries (ABA1B1). The author uses here such methods of composition as double notes, octave doublings, virtuoso passages, dense texture. During the piece the key changes from c-sharp minor – a-flat major – c-sharp minor – d-flat major -and again c-sharp minor. Additionally a change of time signature occurs as well.
